Making the EU Space Act Work for Competitiveness and Security

The EU Space Act sets out to do two things at once: strengthen Europe's security, resilience and sustainability in orbit, and keep its space economy competitive enough to grow. As trilogue negotiations progress, the real test is whether both can be delivered together. That means a more consistent framework across Europe that still respects national security priorities, requirements on cybersecurity, sustainability and market access for non-EU operators that don't place unnecessary burdens on industry, and rules that encourage investment and innovation rather than deter them. This panel brings together the regulators, legislators and industry voices shaping the Act's final form to ask what it will actually mean in practice, and what still needs to change before it becomes law.
