Richard Davis

The dominant themes of my career have been organisation and organisational change, across diverse settings. I began as an operational leader gaining solid experience of organising front line digital services. I moved from there into the temporary project organisations that build and introduce systems into service, initially digital then broadening to encompass air, maritime, financial services and healthcare systems. I took a deep interest in why many of these temporary organisations have poor track records and wrote a professional doctorate examining the social psychology of introducing change, through the lens of consulting relationships. My laboratory was my work as a consultant and advisor, including spells in rural development building social enterprises and strategic communications in a conflict zone. Before retiring, I worked as a strategic delivery advisor inside government and finished my career directing a major government project.
