Nik Smith

Nik Smith is the Executive Vice President and General Manager of the International Business Unit at Slingshot Aerospace, a global leader in space operations and intelligence. Slingshot Aerospace delivers mission?critical space data, space traffic coordination, and advanced modeling and simulation capabilities that help commercial operators, space agencies, and defense organizations enhance spaceflight safety, strengthen space security, and optimize orbital operations. As General Manager of the International Business Unit, Nik leads all company activities outside the United States and Canada, ensuring Slingshot Aerospace provides world?class data, insights, and innovative solutions tailored to the evolving needs of its international customers. The International Business Unit is purpose?built to support the operational and assurance needs of our global partners. A 16?year veteran of the Royal Air Force, Nik brings extensive experience in space, cyber, ISR, capability development, and operational planning. His early career included operating the UK’s Skynet military satellite communications constellation, followed by roles in planning, acquisition, and international engagement-including a final tour at the British Embassy in Washington, D.C. After leaving the RAF, Nik joined Lockheed Martin Space, where he led strategy and growth initiatives across the UK and Europe and served on the Lockheed Martin UK Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors. He joined Slingshot Aerospace in February 2026.
