D-Orbit

D-Orbit is a market leader in the space logistics and transportation industry, with a track record of space-proven services, and successful missions. Founded in 2011, D-Orbit manufactures and operates ION Satellite Carrier, a proprietary OTV that can transport satellites in orbit and release them into distinct orbits, reducing the time from launch to operations, and the overall launch costs. ION can also accommodate multiple third-party payloads, as well as be equipped with intelligence payloads, combining multiple cutting-edge sensors with edge computing, to enable Space Cloud Services solutions. D-Orbit has offices in Italy, Portugal, the UK, a US-based joint venture dedicated to bus design, manufacturing, and commercialization. In April 2025, the company announced a strategic business combination with the Planetek group to integrate new capabilities in cloud-based space applications, AI-powered data processing in orbit, and near real-time data services.
